(Requirements Traceability Matrix)
A table that links requirements to their source, implementation and tests so their progress can be tracked
What's it for?
Keeps each requirement linked to where it came from, what was built and how it was checked.
For example…
An RTM links requirement R-17 to two user stories, a design section and test cases T-41 to T-44 so its delivery status can be checked end to end
During UAT, the team uses the RTM to confirm every mandatory requirement has at least one corresponding test result
